BANKRUPTCY REFORM ACT OF 2005 The Bankruptcy Reform Act of 2005 became effective October 17, 2005. The information on this website has been updated to be consistent with the provisions of the new law. The new law is complex and uncertain. It is likely that the Courts will be reaching conflicting conclusions respecting many of its provisions for an extented period of time. While any person has the right to file bankruptcy without an attorney, given the complexity and uncertainty of the new law, Vanden Bos and Chapman, LLP would strongly urge any person considering a bankruptcy filing to seek out and use experienced bankruptcy counsel.
